Session Proposals
The theme of this year’s event is “Information Literacy and Emerging Technologies” and will explore topics ranging from privacy, misinformation, AI, deepfakes, and how libraries and the communities we serve are impacted.
Sessions are one hour long, including time for Q&A. Successful proposals will showcase the latest trends and best practices in library technology. We want you to provide practical tips and takeaways that can be immediately applied when attendees return to their libraries.
The MD Tech Connect intended audience is IT staff, technologists, and technology enthusiasts from all types of libraries: public, academic, school, and special libraries. The event is designed to bridge these various library technology worlds to be inclusive of all library staff. When considering your proposal, please think about how your topic might be relevant to those from different library types or with different roles.
Topics for sessions may include, but are not limited to:
- Privacy and security
- Guidance through mis/disinformation
- What are deepfakes and how to spot them
- Blurred lines between technology and real life
- Responsible use of AI
- Effective prompt engineering
Submit your session proposal by Friday, July 31.
